The Pestalozzi Children's Foundation (PCF) is a Swiss non-profit organisation, which works worldwide. Our vision is to create a world as a global village of peace through education. PCF is implementing projects through local and experienced partner organisations, which are responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the joint projects.
Training Objective
PCF provides funding to local organisations and aims at strengthening their staff capacities and skills to achieve the programme outcomes. To support local partner organisations we would like to offer a training for project managers and field officers (including CSO and government staff) on development project planning and monitoring applying the Result-Based Management (RBM) approach. The training shall be practical, participatory and tailored to the specific needs and knowledge of the PCF partner organisations.The training shall enable participants to develop their project strategy and carry out effective monitoring in accordance with (PCM/RBM) principles, aligned with PCF specific tools and templates for project planning and monitoring.
Dates and Place
Preferred dates for the training are between 28 July to 01 August 2025. The duration of the training should not exceed 4 days (excluding arrival and departure of trainer and participants). The training shall be held in Lao and take place in Vang Vieng. Costs for transport, accommodation and alimentation are covered by PCF.Participants
Participants will be selected from PCF partner organisations (of Laos) as identified per the organisation′s planning and monitoring capacity needs. PCF partner organisations in Laos are a local NGO of small size, and a government teacher training institution. The training shall be conducted for a minimum of 15 and maximum of 20 participants.
Tentative Agenda
The training agenda shall be developed in close cooperation between PCF and the external service provider. The main topics will be:- Short introduction to Results-based Management and Project Cycle Management, with a focus on planning and monitoring.
- Planning Phase - Needs assessment (gender and child right analysis and methods of data collection and analysis).
- Planning Phase - Analysis stage: problem tree, stakeholder analysis, SWOT, objective tree (including outcome and output).
- Planning Phase - Design stage: logframe, assumptions and indicators, incorporating both PCF quantitative and qualitative data and indicators
- Monitoring: project monitoring and tools as well as interpretations of data for result-based action and reporting in accordance with PCF reporting requirements.
In order to determine the current knowledge and exact needs of the participants, an assessment questionnaire shall be developed and circulated by the trainer upon provision of participants' contacts. The results will inform the detailed planning and agenda of the training.
A follow-up exercise for the participants shall be part of the training package (participants go back to their respective work and apply their learning), the exact format is to be identified and agreed with the trainer.
