Will you build with us?

The Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation (PCF) is a unique Swiss non-profit organisation based in Trogen, Switzerland. We are committed to creating access to quality and equitable education for all children and young people in Switzerland and worldwide. The implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child forms the framework of our projects. The Children’s Village is a place of encounter and the heart of our foundation.

In Tanzania, PCF works with local partner organisations to promote safe school environments, improve teaching quality through the Child-Centred Pedagogical Approach and increase access and inclusion of vulnerable girls and boys to quality education in the regions of Songwe and Arusha.

Training Objective and Participants

PCF provides funding to local partner organisations and aims to strengthen their staff capacities and skills to achieve programme outcomes. To support local partner organisations, PCF would like to offer a training for their partner organisations’ staff (e. g. Project Managers/Coordinators, Education Officers, Project Officers, Monitoring and Evaluation Officers as well as a District ICT Officer) on Digitalisation of Education.

The training will equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills to design, implement, and support education projects that meaningfully integrate digital approaches. It will focus on aligning inter-ventions with national and international policies, promoting effective digital teaching and learning prac-tices, improving access to quality digital content, and strengthening the use of school data to support informed decision-making and improved learning outcomes.

The training shall be practical, participatory and tailored to the specific needs and knowledge of the PCF’s partner organisations in Tanzania and developed in close collaboration with PCF HQ and the Tanzania Country Office.

The participants will be selected from PCF’s partner organisations in Tanzania, which are two medium sized local organisations operating in Karatu District, with limited prior experience on the subject matter. Approx. 11 participants will attend.

Topics to Be Covered

The agenda will be finalised jointly with the consultant, based on a needs assessment. It is expected to cover the following:

  • Digital education policy & vision in Tanzania: Interpreting national and international digital education pol-icies to ensure project alignment, coordination with government actors, and compliance.
  • Digital pedagogy & blended learning in primary schools: Understanding effective digital teaching ap-proaches to inform teacher training, coaching, and project design in low-resource schools.

  • Education Management Information Systems (EMIS & SIS): Using education data systems to strength-en project monitoring, reporting, and evidence-based decision-making.

Note: As the consultant is the expert in this topic, suggestions on the topics and concrete content of the training are welcome. The consultant is expected to provide the detailed content and agenda in the submitted technical offer.

To determine the current knowledge and exact needs of the participants, a needs assessment question-naire shall be developed and circulated by the trainer upon provision of participants′ contacts. The results will inform the detailed planning and agenda of the training.
